Over 300 pocket springs are built into the seat and back, under a layer of foam in the seat pad. Pulled button detailing runs across the seat and back cushions. The back and side cushions are filled with crumb foam and hollow fibre, so they give the moment you lean into them. It is 208cm as a sofa, and 190 by 135cm as a bed.

The front legs are real oak under a clear lacquer with black powder-coated metal legs at the back. To turn it into a bed requires rolling the seat forward on its wheels and dropping the back flat on a Swyft-Pin-Hinge. Legs hidden inside the seat then pull down to take the weight. The side cushions double up as pillows. It goes together on Swyft-Lok fastening, with no tools needed, though two people are advised. Delivery is two boxes. The back and side cushions both reverse, and both hold their shape better for an occasional plump.

The Model 04 is on the firmer side as a sofa. As a bed, it is well regarded for comfort.

Which fabrics work best on the Model 04 if I have pets?

No fabric is fully pet-proof. Velvet and boucle attract pet hair. Chenille and linen are easier to clean. Faux leather is the most resistant to scratches and pet hair. We recommend ordering swatches before deciding.

Is the Model 04 Sofa Bed available in a 2-seater version?

No - the Model 04 sofa bed is 3-seater only.

How does the Model 04 Sofa Bed mechanism work?

The Model 04 arrives flat-packed in two boxes and is designed for self-assembly. The backrest connects to the base using pins at each end, which need to click fully into place before use. We have the assembly instructions and video on the product page.

If the backrest doesn't stay in place during assembly, it's usually due to slight misalignment rather than a fault. If you're unsure or it continues, our support team will be happy to help.

Will the Model 04 Sofa Bed fit through a narrow hallway or up stairs?

The 2-box design means the longest piece is 195 cm - similar in length to a double mattress. The delivery team can unbox at the door and bring pieces in separately if needed. This is standard practice and access failures are rare.

Care Instructions

Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth. For most marks, dampen the area with water and work gently in circles using a microfibre cloth, adding a little mild household soap for anything stubborn, and repeat rather than scrubbing hard. Do not wash, bleach or tumble dry, as washing removes the fabric’s protective finish. For marks that water and soap will not lift, use a professional upholstery cleaner and tell them the cloth is solvent clean only, code P, on a gentle setting.

Linen Oatmeal carries an anti-water (C0) treatment.
