Cleaning a mattress topper differs greatly depending on the material of the topper. Wool or cotton toppers can mostly be machine-washed on a cold, gentle cycle. For down or feather, spot cleaning is recommended, or getting it professionally cleaned. And for memory foam mattress toppers, you should spot clean only – the memory foam can go mouldy if it doesn’t dry properly.
For Swyft mattress toppers, dampen the fabric and blot with a white paper towel—no rubbing, or you’ll end up with bits of towel in your fabric.
Keep blotting until the stain stops transferring. Then add a little more water and gently rub with a microfibre cloth. For tougher stains, grab any white bar of soap and work it in using a circular motion. Let it air dry—no heat or hairdryers.
