Pick your size

Singles, doubles, kings and super kings. The coverless duvet sets run from single up to king and arrive with coordinating pillowcases. The Fine Bedding Co. Then pick your weight

Tog measures how well a duvet holds heat rather than how thick it is. 4.5 tog is the summer weight, for warm rooms and people who overheat. 10.5 tog is the all-season option, warm enough for winter and still usable through spring. Both weights are available, though not in every design: all four coverless sets are 10.5 tog, and the Breathe duvet comes in both.

Coverless, or with a cover

Two approaches. A coverless duvet has the design built into it, so there is nothing separate to buy or wash, and it goes into a domestic machine and machine dries in 90 to 120 minutes. The Breathe duvet is the conventional route: a cotton cover that moves moisture away and holds temperature steady overnight, ready to take a cover of your choosing.

Hypoallergenic, whichever you choose

Every filling here is hypoallergenic, which makes this a reasonable place to start if dust is part of why you sleep badly. The coverless sets use Smartfil®, made from 100% recycled PET bottles and produced in a B Corp certified eco-factory on renewable energy. The Breathe uses a hypoallergenic fill under its cotton cover. Neither flattens out after one season.

Duvet FAQs

What size duvet do I need?

Match the duvet to the bed rather than to the mattress depth: a single bed takes a single duvet, a double takes a double, and so on. If you share a bed and disagree about who has the covers, sizing up one step is the usual fix.

Which duvet is best for hot sleepers?

The 4.5 tog Breathe duvet. A lighter tog rating traps less heat, and its cotton cover moves moisture away and holds temperature steady, which makes it the coolest option in the range. The coverless sets are all 10.5 tog.

How often should a duvet be washed?

Two or three times a year is the usual advice, and more often if anyone in the bed has allergies. That is far easier to keep to with a duvet that fits a domestic machine, which is what the coverless sets are built for.

What is the difference between a duvet and a quilt?

In UK usage a duvet is a single filled item, either used with a cover or, in the coverless case, exactly as it comes. A quilt is usually thinner and stitched through, and tends to be used as a layer over bedding rather than as the main source of warmth.
