Interview with The Designer: Dining Table 03

Designed to be both elegant and functional, Dining Table 03 blends timeless simplicity with thoughtful details. In this interview, the designer shares insights into the creative process, the challenges of balancing form and function, and how the table fits effortlessly into contemporary living.
How would you describe the design of this table and how does it fit with a contemporary interior?
This is a quiet, balanced piece that speaks through subtlety rather than bold statements. Its clean lines and soft edges create a sense of calm and harmony, while its understated design exudes a timeless quality that won’t go out of style. Carefully considered proportions and a neutral palette ensure it integrates seamlessly into a wide range of modern interiors. Rather than demanding attention, it complements its surroundings, adding character without overwhelming the space.
What were the main challenges when integrating an extension system into such a sleek design?
Keeping the mechanism discreet was a real challenge. We wanted the table to stay light and elegant, so it took some problem-solving to hide the system without adding too much bulk to it.
How did you ensure that the extended table can accommodate up to 8 people without compromising on stability and comfort?
It was all about getting the structure right from the very beginning. Every detail of the framework was carefully considered to ensure long-term durability and everyday comfort. We reinforced key areas to provide extra stability, so it remains solid and supportive even when fully extended. Whether it's being used at its most compact or at full length, the structure maintains its shape and strength without compromise.
Why was it important that the Dining Table 03 was easy to assemble?
I believe good design should feel simple and intuitive from the very start, not just in how it’s used day to day, but in how it comes together in your home. The experience should be seamless, from unboxing to setup, with every detail designed to make sense without needing explanation.
What kind of home or lifestyle do you envision Dining Table 03 fitting into?
I imagine it in homes where design is appreciated but not overthought, places where people gather, work, share meals, and live in a flexible, relaxed way.
What part of the Dining Table 03 design are you most proud of?
Probably the balance, trying to keep it minimal but still warm, practical but not too serious. It's always a fine line.
What do you hope people feel when they sit down at Dining Table 03?
I hope they feel comfortable. Like the table just fits naturally into their day, whether it's breakfast, work, or dinner with friends.
